Sooooooo..at about 2am this morning, Lik asked me this question:

OK, so i had my maths exam today. Needless to say it was fucking hard and i stopped attempting it after a hour and 15 minutes. (got the multiple choice answer from my friend next to me so it wasn't that bad ( : ) So i had like 45 minutes to spare...which i used to try to solve the question...which i eventually did after a while ( : Well, i think i did...

I guess the hardest part of the question would the the ambiguity of the word 'weighing machine', i.e everyone would probably think of this:

With this weighing machine(scale), it is now tremendously easy to solve the question. Firstly pick any 6 balls and place 3 on each side of the scale. If one side is higher, that means that the lighter ball is on the higher side, where as if the scale is balanced, it means that the lighter ball is 1 of the 2 that you left out. Ok, if the lighter ball is in the pile that wasn't on the scale (the 2 balls that you left out), then place the 2 balls on the scale and the ball which is higher on the scale is the lighter one. However, if the lighter ball was in the pile of 3 that was higher during your first try, select 2 balls from that pile of 3, and place them on the scale. If one side of the scale is higher then the other, the lighter ball is on the higher side. On the other hand, if the scale is balanced again, the ball that you left out would be the lighter one. ( :

If Iraq tension escalates and causes a significant increase in oil prices, what impact will this have on Australia economic activity?

Oil is an important aspect to any economy as it is both used by consumers but also businesses as an ‘input’ of production. Firstly, the impact on domestic stability will be that economic growth would most likely fall as oil is an ‘inelastic good’ and consumers would simply continue to demand such levels and hence would reduce in other areas reducing the volume of finished goods and services (other than oil) needed reducing GDP growth below the goal of 4-4.5%. It would influence unemployment cyclical as the level of demand would reduce and such we could expect to see unemployment increase and the participation rate decrease as there is simple not enough demand in our economy. Furthermore, it would increase cost push inflation, this is because oil is an important aspect used on many production lines and even by any business in company cars etc. if this price was to increase it means the cost of production would increase, this cost would then be placed onto consumers and such would rise see inflation increase within our economy above the goal rate of 2-3% over the medium term. Currently we have an oil price in our economy which has seen headline inflation hit 4% (and now back down to 3.9%) and underlying inflation hit 2.9%. Therefore, the impact of increasing oil prices due to restricted supply from Iraq would have a negative impact on domestic stability as it is an imported good.

There was once a boy called Ah Hwang. Ah Hwang came from a small village in the edge of town. Although the education in his village wasn't very good, Ah Hwang was very, very smart. Landlady was a very enterprising woman who earned her living buying and selling in the stock market.

Ah Hwang desperately wanted to help, but he didn't know anything bout the stock market. So, Ah Hwang left the cottage and ventured further into the city to learn everything bout the stock market. This exercise took 1 week, and after a week, Ah Hwang return to the cottage to help the Landlady regain her fortune. Ah Hwang reached the cottage, and tried to unlock the door, but he couldn't.

So....Ah Hwang tried and tried to unlock the circle lock with his square key, but his efforts was all in vain. Ah Hwang finally gave up after 198,392 tries. It's amazing how he still kept trying for that long. Ah Hwang then sat down on the grass, resting his hands. Suddenly, a young man walk to the door and managed to open it. Ah Hwang was so shocked. He couldn't believe it. The young man went in and closed the door behind him. Ah Hwang continued to stare at the cottage in astonishment. The Landlady replaced Ah Hwang and rented out his room!

Upon accepting the fact, Ah Hwang walked away ever so slowly and reluctantly. His good intentions was his downfall.

Henry and the Magic Tomato

Once upon a time, there lived a young boy who went by the name of Henry. Henry was the youngest son of Farmer Foo and Madam Foo. They were not really rich even though Farmer Foo and Henry’s two older brothers worked in the fields planting and nurturing tomatoes all day long, making the most use of the sun. During this time, young Henry would stay at home, helping his mother do odd jobs around the house such as knitting, churning butter and cleaning after the dog. Henry didn’t really like his chores, and wanted to join his father and brothers out in the fields. Although Henry was only eight, he thought that he could ‘cut it’ out in the fields. When he raised the suggestion to his family, offering his help, his whole family, including the dog laughed at his silliness. Not to be discouraged, Henry used the jeers and taunts as motivation to prove his family wrong.

The very next morning, after that incident, Henry ventured out into the tomato fields at the crack of dawn. He rose before anyone else in the house did. Dragging a shovel and a hoe along, Henry finally reached the fields after 25 minutes even though the fields were only a kilometre away from his cottage. Breathing heavily and wiping off the sweat on his brow at the same time, he saw that the fields were empty and only little weeds were growing where there was suppose to be tomato plants. Henry concluded that his father and brothers only just finished weeding the fields and those little weeds must have grew during the night. Seeing the opportunity to earn his keep, he started uprooting the weeds. Although the mighty sun shone it’s rays on him relentlessly, and his weapon of choice, the shovel was twice his weight, Henry told himself that he wasn’t going to slow down nor stop working. The weeds were being uprooted at a rate of one every two minutes.

After a very long period of time, Henry finally finished the task at hand. He collapsed under a small tree and admired his work. He smiled and chuckled to himself, imagining his family’s reaction when they see his great work. A combination of fatigue and the hot sun made Henry doze off quickly in the shade of the tree. “WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?!” shouted Farmer Foo. Henry woke up, startled. He look towards the fields the see his father and brothers there, pacing up and down while cursing at the same time. Henry couldn’t understand what made his family so angry. Hiding behind the tree trunk, he heard snippets of the conversation going on between his father and brothers. When Henry finally realised the severity of his actions, it was too late. He had dug up the entires year’s crops! He had mistaken the growing tomato shoots as weeds!

Henry started to panic. His family has now lost its only source of revenue. Henry knew he couldn’t go back. He would probably be sold as a slave as punishment for his mistake and he didn’t want to work for someone his whole life. So Henry did the only reasonable thing a little boy the age of eight could have done, and that was to run away from home. With tears in his eyes, he traced out a short letter to his family in the mud at the base of the tree, explaining himself. After calming himself down, he got up, took one last look at his angry family in the fields who were still swearing at the top of their voices, turned around and walked into the forest that surrounds the fields.

And that is the story of poor little Henry, who made a big mistake while trying to help his family that ultimately forced him to leave his family and set out on a magical adventure. Oh, he does meet a talking frog along his journey, save a princess from certain death, vanquish a evil witch and find a magic tomato which will be the solution to poverty around the world, but that’s for another day.

My essay, that i wrote in 20 minutes. How much would you give it? It would be interesting to see how much you'll give meand compare to what my teacher will give me...( : Yes...i'm actualling handing it in as homework. ( :

I discovered today that one of my major pet peeves is people using 'I love you' in different languages as his/her nickname in Msn. WOW. So you know whats 'I love you' in french, korean, japanese or in Welsh for all i care. Its kinda stupid to profess your love to someone in a foreign language that you may only know a few words off. Instead of the gibberish, why can't we just stick to the old favourite 'I love you'?

Ah well...congrats Azzuri. Many people may say they don't deserve to win it, but winning the World Cup isn't easy and reaching the finals proves them worthy of winning it. Only 2 goals conceded in the entire tournament (OG-Zaccardo and Pen-Zidane), Italy certainly proved that they are worthy champions. Italy completely nullified Zidane in that match, Gattuso and Pirlo were taking turns marking him the whole night. Great Job. I loved Cannavaro's overhead kick clearance...he reminds me of me ( :

The worst feeling in the world is when you have to return to school after a 2 weeks holiday. It wouldn't be so bad if you actually like to go to the school, but guess what, i don't really like mine. The prospect of sitting for a maths test (circular function, differentiation, integration) isn't really helping either. Sigh i wanna be in uni, where attendance don't matter and you only need to pass, where you don't need to mix with ppl if you don't want to and where the teachers (lecturers) don't give a damn about you. I wanna live the uni life. Wheres my Click remote?

High School Musical is awesome. Yes it's a disney movie aim at viewers aged between 8-14, but it has managed to capture the heart and mind of almost the whole United States. I just watched it myself after getting my hands on the movie thru methods that isnt so popular in some parts of the world (God bless Bitcomet), and i'm addicted to the soundtrack. The main female character is as adorable as ~~shing~~ any girl on the planet. Our generation's Grease.

Hmmm...im definitely gonna try to watch as many matches as I possibly can...but im definitely gonna watch all the matches in bold. So if anyone is staying up, please let me know...so got kaki hehe. Group C is gonna be a fun group, where all 4 teams have a chance to progress. Ivory Coast and Serbia & Montenegro shouldn't be taken lightly. I've a feeling that Ivory Coast will cause major upsets in the world cup. Im not expecting any Asian team to go as far as South Korea did the last world cup.

My favs to win are Argentina or Portugal. In my opinion, these two teams are the only teams that can match Brazil at this moment in time. Brazil will always be the top favourite in everyones mind and England has everyones sentimental vote. To be honest, i dont really care who wins. Just as long as the football is beautiful.

I'll be updating this post after each match with perhaps a little commentary by the side of the matches that i watched. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this post, please leave a comment. Maybe we can have an open forum in the comments section hehe. Toodles.

Case Of The Ex

I wonder if anyone can truthfully claim to be on good terms with their ex(s). If you're the dumpee, you let this person rip out your heart and grind it into the dust; and if you're the dumper, you have to live with the twinge of guilt everytime you remember the bewilderment and hurt in their eyes.

Ask anyone about their past and you'll usually get a carefully vague answer from a completely blank face, or, in more extreme cases, a look of anguish or grimace followed by an all out slag-fest.

I guess in some cases, when one party's being all martyr-like, they'll be thinking well okay, so we'll be friends, at least s/he'll still be in my life, then the other party can claim that everything's just peachy. It's really evil.

Things can never go back to the way it was before the relationship. It's like having a stone in your shoe, and although the passing of time dull the awkwardness, I don't think it ever fully goes away.

So after a period of ignoring the stone in your shoe, the way to completely feel comfortable again is to take the stone out, thus ensuring a more comfortable journey on life's road once more. Shouldn't everyone just move along?

They've been together forever, so long in fact that people can't think of one without the other. They were the oxymoron of our teenage years, the icon of stability in a tumultuous time. When everyone was messing around, getting their hearts broken, breaking other hearts, they were there, together.

Relationships came and went in the tapestry of friends around them, yet they endured, and they were good at it. Quick fix patches held longer than expected, only to be replaced by new ones. No one except their closest confidants knew how deep the cuts went, sometimes not even them. But what’s a relationship without a few problems?

Of course they care very deeply for each other. They’ve shared the best part of their teenage years, been to hell and back in each other’s arms. But things are changing. Needs and wants are different, more persistent. Yet their public façade was perfect, the porcelain surface did nothing to indicate the cracks underneath, maybe until they even started to fool themselves. They didn’t see it coming until it was too late.

So what does he do now? Hold hope so tightly in one hand while fighting their battles with the other? Or break free? After so long, hand in hand, the latter would be like walking across a yawning chasm with no safety net or tether. It takes two to have a relationship, but if you love someone, shouldn’t you let them go?

It’s so hard to stand on the side and watch him struggle, lost together in the very idea of such a huge change. I wish I could throw out a safety line, but I don’t know how.

There are two kinds of love, you know. Selfish and unselfish. Most of the times, these two are best-fucking-friends. They come in a package. But more than half of the time, 99% really, our love is selfish. It makes us feel secure, happy, daring or well, it just makes us feel. Good or bad. It gets to the core and damnit, that's enough. I mean, what a riot, right? We really aren't alone on this universe. Wow, there is really someone who would sacrifice so much for me. Selfish love is one that serves you a purpose; it comes with expectancy. & we often mistake this for unselfish love, even in the midst of all the obligations, responsibilities and the vague sense of suffocation- you just can't put your finger on.

So then, what about the unselfish kind?
I'm not gonna lie - I'm not even really sure if i understand it. But i know that it can't be squeezed into a feeble paragraph like I'm going to try to anyway. I'm not too much of a romantic (or at least I pretend not to be), but I don't underestimate real love, if it really does exist. It's unconditional, it's continuous. & here's the thing: it's still unbreakable even when it's not returned. No dependency, no expectancy. When it no longer has to do with your relationship to the other person and it's just something that's crystallized and brilliant, that's love. & The closest allsion I can think of is: Like the way a mother loves a baby. Unselfish love is incapable of hurting.

Eeyyeer arsenal is through the champs. league final. Considering that they never passed the quaters..not bad ei. Whats interesting is that it seems that the clubs at the top all seem to be more or less equal now...Chelsea inevitably winning the league...ManYoo gonna get 2nd and have won the league cup...Liverpool on course for a FA cup and arsenal in the champsleague final. okay.. had the taylor's SAM charity drive in the morning and afternoon (kinda like a food/fun fair) and the taylor's top model and zest party at night.

overall it was kinda fun. got to meet a lot of new people n stuff.

the fashion show at night was kinda boring. the party was a bit boring too. all the dancing and loud music.. haih i still need to get used to it.

Hmmmm....first day of school was like any other day in school. Unfinished holiday homework were almost all ignored by teachers...i guess they know that normal ppl dont finish holiday homework :)

Weeeeeeee....time to reflect on me holidayss....lessee....first 2 weeks was alrite...got to relax....push school totally out of my mind....daily routine was 'wake up, ponder bout wad to cook, cook, wash, throw in the odd hang out with friends, sleep' I enjoyed myself nevertheless. and then...and tHEN....AND THEN!!

Woke up at se7en that very morning she arrived...felt as if i was going to school...yawn at least a thousand times...took the bus to city to meet jane...then took the train (my 1st train ride hehe)...to take the shuttle to the airportt...i think we arrived like...a hour before her flight was dued to touchdown...gave us a chance to pick a very good spot to hold our oh so creative and pretty signs up...and we waited patientlyy. It was very anti-climatic when she walk out of the gate hehe...because jane and i were debating about the how long more she was gonna take to pass thru customs. lalala...embraced and then boarded the shuttle backk to city...oh melia was on the phone with her dear daddy...who said 'No clubbing or nude beaches!' Yup, you could see the huge disappointment on melias face. Reached city....met up with connie at her apartment...and we then went to eat lunch. After a scrumptious lunch...met upwith connie's friends and went meat shopping! And thats only the first day!

2nd day...went to The Royal Melbourne Show. Yea it was fun...but so damn expensive...won myself a whale!!!!!!!!!! CMON NUMBER 9!!! Jane won a spongebob and melia...won nothing. After spending bucketloads of money on unbelievable easy looking but hard games...we ventured on in search of the cute kuit farm animals...that was fun...Melia and I went into the animal enclosure while jane stood outside taking photos.. We held kids and chased pigs hehe. In the animal building thingy...i thought i saw someone familiar...so i did a doubletake....and i saw...

a goat!!! Silly me thinking it was gordon...i must have been really sleepy.
I later learn that connie's friend P got pissed at her because connie said that the kermit that P won was ugly. Yea...i wud get angry too if u know...u talk shit bout my whale. Sigh...18 yr olds these days.
We then caught the incredibly overhyped (and i mean really exaggerated) MONSTER TRUCK SHOW with THE ROCKETMAN and HUMAN CANNONBALL!!! The only thing good about the performance was.....urm......nothing i guess.

Too much excitement! Rested on Sunday cause after all, SUnday is, you know, a rest day.

Mondayaya...went down to connies place again...for a bbq with connies uni frens and ex-lodgians too..twas fun as well...so much foood...so little time to eat...good meat horrible vegies...yuck bitter sour evil vegies...So then Jane Melia and Mua left for Rialto tower..yay..on the way there i had a terrible need to piss...found a damn and i mean damn cool toilet on the way...fully automated...buttons galore...i must have spend like a minute extra pressing the buttons...it was filthy though...litres of piss on the floor and stuff...I was amazed i was...and amused...and thrilled...i have one complain though...the music that was played in the toilet wasnt exactly piss friendly...they could have played like...SInging In the Rain or Liquid Dreams :)

We finally reached the tower...i opted for the tram but noooooooo...went up in the super fast elevator and we were breathtaken for a moment before realising that we were only looking at lights...yahooo! We got a portrait drawn of ourselves though...$6...i cud have done it for free...see...

tHe next day...was melias 'surprise' (very very)early bday cakecutting ceremony thingy...so went down to city again...ate viet food...got serve by a very low energy waiter...who took 6 minutes to gimme my coke (A CAN COKE GODAMNIT CANT USE THE 'HE WENT OUT TO CATCH' EXCUSE)...the restaurant must be applauded however...for they surprise us all...apparently connie ordered 8 springroll but only 7 came...all of us didnt bother to count our springrolls because well....that isnt normal in any part of the world...so out came one more springroll...i wanted to burst out laughing because thats just too damn funny...its a 'you had to be there' type of situation.
Then we went shopping!!!!
Windowshopped up and down Bridge Road and Smith Street for a while...amelia had a hard time choosing a sweater to buy...i thought the one i chose was nice...but noone else shared my opinion..so...i cried inside. We walked further down to Nike. They had a Will Discount For Food promotion where NIke will give up to 30% discounts in return for 3 cans of food...so the energetic hyper me offered to run to the nearest convenient store to buy some tin cans....regretted mygung-ho attitude after running up a angle for about...3 minutes...im not out of shape...im in shape...just that imy shape is round XDD(but not that round). So i finally reached 7 Eleven...which was like 4 maybe 5 blocks away...my legs were like jelly at that point...the kelenga cashier was looking at me like i was in desparate need for food...due to me being all short of breath and everything...bought 2 tuna cans and one Nesquik and made my way back. On the way back...during one of my glorious strides...my ankle fell awkwardly...and OUCH OMFG PAIN AHHH...regardless of the EXCRUCIATING PAIN i was feeling...melia still got her 20% discount (the damn tuna cans were too bloody small...at what point in the damn poster did u specify that the damn cans had to be 25kg or more...huh NIKE HUH?!?!?!)
Reached connies apartment...bummed around for a while...and we then made our way to Hoyts Mel C (from now on Melbourne Central shall be known as Mel C...because its such a brilliant play of words by yours truly...much mUCH better then that BBEL rubbish hehheh) watched hilary duffs 'The Perfect Man' Dumb movie...nuff said. After that it was time for the secret cake retrieving operation for me and connie to carry out...Connie and I (Team A) parted with Melia (Target) and Jane (Team B)...Team A was in charge of picking up the cake while Team B distracted the Target and brought the Target to the pre-arranged rendezvous point (Crown Casino) So Team A recruited Kelvin Tay along the way and we were now carrying out of mission. The mission was carried out flawlessly...although i had to hop most of the way cause of my SHITPAINLIKECRAZY ankle...we reached our rendezvous point and set up everything...i was in charge of gathering photo evidence of the event while the other 2 were setting up the candles...we were finally ready and called Team B to cue her...at that point of time, Team A was facing a dilemma on whether or not we should blow the candles out first coz they were burning awfully(joe) quick....but intheend...all was well as Team B completed her mission before the candles finished burning. We celebrated our success by eating our cake and singing a awfully(joe) bad version of 'Happy Birthday' to the Target. Mission Accomplished.
After that, we ate dinner(please note that it was at least 12.30am) at crown...dinner=KFC,McDonald...and we went on to throw money away at Galactic Circus hehe...its a arcade btw...the games were off high quality...i had loads of fun...Jane and Melia are very bad in DDR. Yea fun...we pooled our tickets together and managed to exchange our tickets for a stressball, a beanbag, a poker set and a mini puzzle. All of which i believe have been forgotten about. :)
Got back to connies apartment for my first slumberparty :D
Contary to popular believe...girls dont have pillow fights in their undies...sigh. Played cards till about 5...i proved to everyone that its possible to suck in fengshui through your nose...and kept winning hehe...then we watched 'Bewitched' Overall, i think Will Ferrell saved the movie from damnation. In the middle of the movie...everyone was falling asleep...so i followed suit.
The next day....woke up...chuckled to myself cause heard the girls snoring...and went to shower...lalala....ate lunch....and we rushed to Lion King-The Musical. We were seating in row Y. Seats only go up to....Z. But i thought it was good seats hehe. Spilt my 7up over the lady next to me because the 7up was to excited and rushed to the top of the bottle. The lady next to me was very very very understanding...wasnt angry at all! Thank God it wasnt that time of month for her! After Lion King...we went to buy Crumpler bags for me and melia...hehe.
Did a little homework on thursday.
Friday...went down to city for yumcha wif Connie, Evelyn Hii(X-lodgian) K-Tay, JeLYY and we need a name for melia. It was good...the lunch...eventful...funny...Got inspiration for a new msn nick there...Ah CH(J)oe. So after that, Melia Jane and I went down to St Kilda beach to take in the sights...took a couple of pics here and there...fun fun...then took a bus down to Chadstone...walked around and round...till it was time to say byebye to melia....sighs.
Went to Sofias for dinner with Connie and Friends...the servings there are like so damn freaking huge man...take the biggest food serving u've seen...and times that by 1.2530...mann...i was so full that night...but there was still enough space for gelato for dessert hehe...nice~...was so tired and full that night. It was cheap, not very good, but it has value for size.
Lalala...so thats about it for my holidays...had a bday party the next day but i figured that this post is really long adi...well...sincere thanks to Jane Melia and Connie for a very enjoyable and wonderful holiday. Melias fun. Janes fun. Connies fun. They taught me that withdrawing money from the ATM and defrosting meat are fun to do. Sigh...ended too soon.

Long Application Task(4 day maths test...sit for the paper in class and u are not allowed to bring anything out or in) sucks...so boring and long...whats more you have to take an authentication test after u finish to show that u didnt cheat. Gay!
Google released its IM device recently...Google Talk. Looks pretty plain...sadly i have no addreses in my google address book so..yea.
Urm Msn Messenger 7.5 have also been released. Not alot of new features...can someone dl it so i can play with the voice clip?! hehe.
Most of the Yr 11s in my school have come down with the TETRIS EPIDEMIC...yes tetris..the game with the too-cool-for-school song. hehe. Dont know where u can dl it like the ones being used in school but u can play it online here.

LandOfTheDead...watch it. Whats not to like about a movie about zombies.
Most memorable scene would be a zombie biting a women's navel piercing off...and blood starts filling her bellybutton...mmmm. You can really see the zombie's character development progress throughout the movie...from killing with their barehands...to cleavers and baseball bats and finally using guns.

I have too many muscles. I know because every single one aches. I'm slowly drowning because any water I drink is immediately converted into mucus, and I'm singlehandedly decimating the rainforest through a box of Sorbent tissue paper.

I've popped a impressive number of pills from my aunt's even more impressive collection of drugs. One of the packets read "Avoid operating heavy machinery - may cause drowsiness". Yes, when I'm feeling this ill the first thing I'd do is go out and drive a tractor.

BB-Awakening

Yes we're back up...couldnt stand sophias nagging any longer. So here you go...new look, new feel...hope you like it yea.
The reason why sime close the blog was to fix little errors and stuff...so we (I) finally fixed it today...yay!
lets see...catch up time...Mon-Fri was like any other normal Mon-Fri that you can have...slow...boring...slow...dourly boring. Had 3(!!!) tests on Friday..think i did well for all so no fret! hehe
Saturday. Watched Sin City for the second time...great movie...extreme gore...too bad u m'sians cant watch it on the big screen. hahaha...im glad im above 15. Funny thing happen on the tram to the cinema...some guy tried to sell me drugs!! hahaha...he came up to me and my friends and said 'you wanna buy some pure morphine or Xanax??' So im like WTF?!?! My friends were like 'whats morphine?' haha china ppl. So i gathered myself...and being the witty asshole that i am...i replied ' Nah mate, I got a shitload of Panadol to work through tonight, sorry.' He sweared at me and got off the tram at the next stop. hehe!
Sunday. Janes Birthday Lunch!! Fun fun. went to Ying Thai. The cutlery there was so freaking dirty...there were like dried food on my cup and a sticky substance on my plate....shit man...ordered Gouy Tiew Moo...or pork noodles hehe...and shared some food with jane, singjiat, huihong and chewee! Crispy Pork Skin was horrible! Man did it suck. So cake came out and janes face got hot and red. hehe. More detailed story and pics here. Took the tram back with Che Wee. Talked a little...hahaha someone got 2 and i have none. That made me sad...

Malaysia's AirAsia says it will be Manchester United's official low-fare airline under a deal that includes global advertising and sponsorship.

The deal was signed in Hong Kong on Friday by Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill and AirAsia Chief Executive Tony Fernandes, an AirAsia statement said.

The one-year deal starts in August and covers AirAsia's associate companies, Thai AirAsia and AWAIR in Indonesia, it said.

The statement did not state the value of the agreement, but Malaysia's The Star newspaper reported Saturday the deal would cost AirAsia 10 million ringgit $US2.64 million ($A3.45 million).

AirAsia officials could not immediately be reached for comment on Saturday.

"Manchester United stands for creativity, passion and the best of football," the AirAsia statement quoted Fernandes as saying. "The partnership signifies our determination to be the best and have the highest quality product."

Andy Anson, the club's commercial director, said AirAsia's markets were home to a large number of United supporters and the deal signified the club's growing popularity internationally.

United's marketing director, Peter Draper, told The Star the club was in negotiations with two companies in China and Taiwan for sponsorship rights.

The paper also said the team had agreed to visit to Malaysia at the end of the 2005-2006 season to take part in a regional competition, the AirAsia Cup.

"This is a dream of mine, of United playing a few teams from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia," it quoted Fernandes as saying. "We might even form (a Southeast Asian) all-star team to take them on."

The Star said AirAsia will use images of the club's players in its advertising campaigns, sell United merchandise on flights and paint a new Airbus A320 in United colours.

Manchester United is currently in Hong Kong for a friendly against Hong Kong's national team on Saturday.
